Overview

El Valle de Antón is located entirely within the crater of an extinct volcano. The village holds the world record for the largest inhabited volcanic crater. The area is perfect for hiking and a great destination to explore the mountains during your trip to Panama. You can visit the Pozos Termales (hot springs) to relax after hiking. El waterfall el Macho is a beautiful waterfall in a gorgeous natural setting. In the center of El Valle de Antón, there is a small and charming butterfly garden where you can enjoy admiring up to 16 different species of colorful butterflies. El Valle is regionally famous for its Sunday Market, a colorful and lively event that draws vendors, many of whom are local Indigenous from around the area who come to hawk traditional clothing, handicrafts, baskets, ceramics, vegetables, orchids, food items, and more .
