A Day at the Island of Reefs

4.6 · 12 Reviews

Overview

Stretching over about twenty kilometers south of the island of Rangiroa, this coral formation also called "FEO" in "Paumotu" (Tuamotu language) is as important as it is exceptional, because it serves as a barrier against the strong the swell of the austral winter thus delaying the erosion of our “motu” (islets). This unique and impressive landscape transports us to the stars with its craters that one would believe to have been formed by the impact of meteorites, thus creating natural basins filled with crystal clear water.
